Sports and Event Management –Work Experience – B&B, Self Catering and Retail Show 2018, and the International Mini Rugby Series 2018

Dear students

We are the organisers of the International Mini Rugby Series 2018. This is the 10th year of these festivals which previously took place in Brockenhurst in 2009, Kirkby Lonsdale in 2010 and 2011, Chichester in 2010-2017 , Windermere 2012,2014-2017, Kendal 2013 and Oswestry in 2012 and 2013. We want to recruit Event Management, Sports Studies students and Referees for paid work experience at our Mini and Youth Rugby Festivals as well as the Bed & Breakfast, Retail and Self Catering Exhibition and Conference being held for the fourth year in Bristol.

The International Mini and Youth Rugby Event Manager Job Description and person specification is available to download from our website. These documents can be used to pin up on notice boards or to forward to your new students. For the Cumbria event students have to be available from Thursday 12 April until and Sunday 15 April 2018. Ideally, we would prefer students available for all three days of the Chichester event which includes the set up day. For students who live more than 25 miles from the venue we normally provide some form of accommodation which could be camping or hotel / self-catering accommodation.

The dates and venues for all three events are as follows:-

Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 February 2018 Venue: Thornbury Leisure Centre, Bristol (BS35 1SB)

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April 2018 Venue: Windermere, Windermere RFC, Cumbria, (LA23 1HW)

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May 2018 Venue: Chichester, West Sussex (PO19 1SB)

The Mini Rugby Competitions take place over the two days with build up being on Fridays. The attendees are made up of players aged 7 to 12 years old and the remainder are their parents, both Mums and Dads. They will be at the venue from 10.00am until 6.00pm on the Saturday and until 5.00pm on the Sunday. They will be accommodated in the area of the event. The event is being run in accordance with the RFU Continuum. More information is available at www.internationalminirugby.com.

The Bed & Breakfast, Retail and Self Catering Show Exhibition and Conference takes place on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 February 2018 with the set up being on Tuesday 20 February. More information about this event is available at www.thebedandbreakfastshow.com

Ideally, we would like your students available from 10.00am on the Friday (Tuesday for Bed & Breakfast, Retail and Self Catering Show Exhibition and Conference) until 6.00pm that day and over the Saturday and Sunda

Left on Tuesday 24th October 2017 for Running Activator (Jamie Ingrouille)

Great way to develop coaching experience and spread your enjoyment of running to friendly beginners. As well as the aforementioned experience provided, working as a GASA volunteer is a great addition to the CV and provides a route towards a Level One qualification if you intend to go into coaching.
