University of Portsmouth Badminton Co-ordinator 17/18

Hours: 2 hours per week (term time only) – you would need to be available to deliver one badminton session a week during term time (times to be confirmed)
Role: Voluntary with incentives
The Badminton Coordinator will be responsible for delivering our student and staff Get Active, Stay Active drop-in sessions. This role will also support work to strengthen links with community badminton partners, as well as the University Badminton Club.
Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will:
•Assist in the promotion of student and staff Get Active, Stay Active sessions and badminton tournaments.
•Support the other Get Active, Stay Active coordinators to ensure someone is at every session.
•Ensure the equipment is of a playable standard and communicating efficiently if new equipment is needed.
•Ensure all participants are given an equal opportunity to participate during the session.
•Assist with ensuring the Get Active, Stay Active Badminton sessions registers are kept up-to-date by checking participants have booked in at reception and collecting receipts. Each session has a target of 30 participants.
•Assist in building a stronger relationship with the AU badminton club so there is a clear pathway of opportunities for all players.
•Gain feedback from AU badminton club, Get Active, Stay Active badminton players, and Campus Sport badminton players.
•Engage in internal and external training in order to further knowledge of delivery and share ideas.
•Attend organised recurrent meetings to discuss your action plan.
•Register and log your hours on the Sports Volunteering Hub.
•Provide a short testimony about how you have benefited from the qualification/experience.
